Abstract

With the aid of RS and GIS techniques and based on two TM images, the area change and types change of land use in Tai´an City were studied by using change range and change rate indexes, then the drive factors were analyzed. The research indicated that, the change range of cultivated land was largest; its area decreased 31193 hm², it was translated to woodland, garden and built-up area; the change rate of built-up area was largest, which was 260.3%. The policies and planning played a primary guide role, the economic growth, especially the rapid growth of the tourism, was the direct pull factor, and the populations growth was the indirectly promote factor.
