Abstract
This paper deals with the comparison between some different methods for determining optimal control strategies of linear singularly perturbed systems. The considered methods are: the fixed point, the Newton type and the Taylor expansion methods. It is well known that Newton type algorithm is a second order approach. However the others are only first order ones. Finally, this work is illustrated by the example of a doubly fed machine coupled to infinite bus
