  • Abstract
A real-time LPC (linear predictive coding) spectral envelope estimator and concurrent SIFT pitch extractor, implemented on a 14-chip TMS320C10-based board, have been migrated to a truly portable and pocketable three-chip, 0.5-W TMS320E17 system. The software system serves as a feature extraction front end for multichannel, cochlear implant systems or for hearing prostheses which map speech features to either visual displays or vibrotactile devices
