Abstract
The main contribution of the article is the presentation of enhancements to the IEEE hardware/software system life cycle model in the development of reactive, real time embedded systems. In addition, the enhanced life cycle model incorporates a collection of adaptive fuzzy clocks, one for each stage of the life cycle to monitor expected and actual durations. The model also monitors degrees of Cempel energy dissipation. Features of the Wolfe life cycle model (communicating processes, structural and logical descriptions of system processes) are also included in the enhanced IEEE model
