  • Abstract
In this paper, we mainly present a group physiological monitoring system, called GPMSwLF, which is coupled with a location subsystem. GPMSwLF is based on 802.15.4 wireless network and comprises three kinds of devices: Coordinator, Relay Point (RP) and Physiological Monitor (PM). Coordinator establishes and maintains a wireless network and serves as an interface between GPMSwLF and PC. RP extends the range of the wireless network and is responsible for the data transmit between PMs and the Coordinator. PM is a kind of portable health monitoring device, which is capable of measuring a number of physiological parameters: pulse oximetry (SpO2), heart rate and temperature. The main contribution of this paper includes: We integrate health monitoring system with a location subsystem without adding additional hardware; Professional and high integration design of the devices makes GPMSwLF a portable system which is easy to deploy. Experimental results show that the performance of GPMSwLF is reliable. Besides, the location subsystem can reach room-level resolution.
