Abstract :
The algorithm and architecture solution is given for the automatic detection and recognition of traffic violations. The problem is to detect and record traffic violations at a remote site and recognize the vehicle license registration sufficiently to insure automated processing of the violation. There are two components of the solution of this complex imaging problem, algorithms for the detection and recognition of vehicle registrations and an image processor for the efficient execution of the algorithms.
