Abstract :
A new integrated voltage-fed PWM ac-dc converter that combines an ac-dc boost converter with a dc-dc full-bridge converter is proposed in the paper. The paper explains the operation of the converter in detail and discusses its features. An analysis of the converter is performed and the results of the analysis are used to develop a procedure for the design of the converter that is demonstrated with an example. The control of the converter is also discussed. Results obtained from an experimental prototype that confirm the feasibility of the converter are presented in the paper.
