Abstract :
Damages exist in every truss structure during long using process, so it´s necessary to find the damages of using structures promptly avoiding collapse. Pole elements are the main members of steel truss structures, and the damage of these structures often appear pole elements, so the element damage information not node damage information must be adopted to judge the damage location. On the other hand, damages represent changes of the structural local properties, while wavelet transformation analysis can indicate the structural local properties in time domain and frequency domain. Strain mode differences are the sensitive parameters to the truss structure, therefore the wavelet transformation analysis base of strain mode differences can be used to define the element damage location of steel truss structure in this paper. The results show that this method can be used to determine element damage location of the truss structure and these were valuable to the practical project.
