  • Abstract
    Conventional PID or fuzzy controller cannot get good controlling performance in the control of hydroelectric generating unit system, which is non-linear, varying with time, high steps system. In order to overcome the shortcoming of conventional fuzzy or PID controller, the fuzzy-PID composite control method is used to control it. The combining modes between fuzzy and PID were introduced in detail. Based on the model of hydroelectric generating unit, parameters and reasoning rules of every combining mode between fuzzy and PID were adjusted via expert knowledge and genetic algorithms. Each controlling strategy was simulated. The response figures, which reflected the controlling effect, were given in the paper. Based on simulating experiment, it is discussed that how fuzzy and PID combine to get better controlling effect.
