  • Abstract
In order to promote power and energy engineering education and career opportunities and to meet the future needs and expectations of the power and energy industry in the 21st century, the curriculum and course contents must be very carefully designed and delivered. Preparing future generation of electric power and energy systems engineers is different than it was in the past and is a challenging task at best. This paper addresses the status of the undergraduate and graduate level education in power engineering in USA and provides some insight to the future needs.
