Abstract :
Using femtosecond pulses from a multi-pass-cavity Ti:S oscillator, submicron-period Bragg gratings were fabricated inside waveguides in bulk glasses without any phase masks. Transmission spectra with resonance wavelengths in the optical communication band were successfully observed.
