Abstract
We discuss theoretical and experimental hurdles one needs to overcome creating left-handed materials for visible-light optics with the help of nanosized metallic resonators: losses, transition from currents to vibrations of electron plasma (plasmons), resonance coupling to an incident light (dark modes), etc.
