Abstract :
This paper introduces a new class of uniform digital filter banks based on DFT and recursive Nth-band filters. We consider both even and odd types of channel stacking arrangements. Due to the use of the DFT, the basic filter bank is complex. Real filter banks are obtained by adding the output signals from two symmetrically located complex channels. The filter banks are designed to satisfy the power complementarity and allpass complementarity constraints with high accuracy. Furthermore, nearly alias-free analyzer-synthesizer system can be obtained in the critically sampled case.
