  • Abstract
Machining process is one of the important contents in the teaching of the machinery and near-mechanical engineering. In the process of teaching, it is necessary to dwell on the machining process of the typical parts like box-body class parts, axis class parts, sleeve class parts and so on. The transmission case of the farm tractor is a typical box part, its process plan is also typical. The simulation of machining processes can make the theoretical and static processes lively. The powerful 3DS MAX software is used to model the transmission case, its blank and cutting tools used in machining it. Then the allowance change and the movements of this part and cutting tools in manufacturing are simulated. At last, all process animations are composed to generate a file of animating a process of machining the transmission shell. It can also be used for internet teaching. The simulation plays an important role in improving the learning efficiency and effect in teaching activities. It can also be used for internet teaching.
