Abstract
A clipping-filtering technique is the simplest and most widely used technique for peak-to-average power ratio reduction (PAPR) in a multicarrier transmission. The paper presents comparison analysis of two clipping-filtering schemes. The first one performs clipping of a signal at the Nyquist rate while in the second implementation a signal is oversampled before clipping. The schemes are compared through their PAPR reduction ability (complementary cumulative distribution functions for two schemes are examined) and bit error rate performance. The influence of the non-ideal amplification on the clipped signals is also considered. Some analytical estimations as well as simulation results are given.
