Abstract
A theoretical analysis of the performance of optimum array filter (AOAF) for sensor arrays, which is proposed by Hanna and Simaan is presented. The beam pattern of array processing system not only depends on the rejection response, but also the model mismatch. The filter, which is designed to have the optimum rejection response in the case of model mismatch is derived. The receive response M(f) and the rejection response P(f) of AOAF system can be obtained as a function of directional vector of the signal incidental angle θ. It is shown that the beam pattern of DICANNE, proposed by V.C.Anderson, is a special case of AOAF when the estimation bias of the incidental angle of interference is equal to zero.
