Abstract
The paper presents a new kind of single-phase power source. It consists of a three phase-two phase balancing transformer and a shifter. When it supplies to a single-phase load, the phenomena of asymmetrical three-phase input current that appears in a normal three-phase transformer disappears. Thus the unbalance influence of single-phase load to three-phase voltage of power system is eliminated. It is through magnetomotive force balance relationship existing in the shifter to eliminate negative sequence current in the transformer. So no matter what the magnitude or phase of the load impedence is, the asymmetrical current produced by the single load is reduced greatly. A prototype is made to valid the theory. Experiment results prove the correctness of the theory very well
