Abstract :
We describe a Java-based event notification service aimed at managing and distributing events occurring in distributed virtual environments. We first concentrate on design issues related to the modeling of our event service by applying some object-oriented design patterns. We then describe an implementation of TV news broadcast based on both Javasoft´s Javabean architecture and distributed middleware. We finally compare our approach with related work in the area
