Abstract :
The universal motor is widely used in domestic appliances because of its high speed capability and high power output. Its performance can be improved by use in the separately excited mode with power electronic control. With power electronics (inverters), the high speed, three-phase induction motor has become a practical option for domestic appliances. A comparison of the two drives is given
