Abstract
This paper proposes a new structure for left handed metamaterials by using hexagonal split ring resonators (HGSRR) and thin wires (TW) at S-band. The effect of geometrical parameters like split width, number of splits of HGSRR on magnetic resonance frequency behaviour is investigated. It is observed that there is an increase in the resonant frequency of SRR by increasing the number of splits. The left handed behaviour of composite structure (HGSRR+TW) is also verified with graphical simulated results and by numerical retrieval of parameters.
