Abstract
We report what is believed to be the first ultra-low-photon-defect resonantly diode- pumped Er:YAG cryo-laser. Quasi-CW laser performance at 85 K in this initial experiment was found to be 58% efficient. Quasi-CW power of ~22 W was achieved.
