Abstract
Overlapping is one of the serious problems in the spike sorting of multi-channel recordings. Although techniques to resolve this problem have been developed, there still remains much room for improvement. We present in this paper a new overlapping resolution method which is simple and can easily be incorporated in the existing spike sorting systems. The proposed method combines spike sorting algorithms with the linear projections, such that each projection eliminates single-neuronal activity. Simulations show that our method successfully resolves overlapping in real neural data
