Abstract :
This paper uses electroforming technology to implement the winding of a miniature axial-flux motor. Electroforming is a highly specialized process for fabricating a metal part by electro deposition in a plating bath over a base plate. Unlike radial flux motors, whose windings need to be realized using copper wires, electroforming process carries out the three-phase windings directly. Winding arrangement and coil shape are simulated by finite element analysis and designed for better performance. Based the design result and electroforming technology, the copper-electroformed winding is carried out. Proper electroforming parameters, such as density current, concentrations of components of the bath, temperature and so on, were controlled in electroforming process. Briefly, this paper presents a practical reference of winding layout to be considered in miniature axial-flux motor design
