Abstract :
In this paper we treat the problem of joint Doppler and elevation estimation for low-elevation moving target in the antenna array´s near field. In general, the target can be embedded in a strong stationary clutter, and the dwell time on target is such that the available number of snapshots, K, can be rather small (twelve to sixteen). Our approach is to first locate the Doppler shift, suppress the stationary clutter, and coherently demodulate the signal, all in frequency domain. The demodulators´ outputs are converted back to time-domain and, since their Doppler shifts are now equal to zero, the narrowband version of superresolution angle estimation methods can be applied. That is all of the K snapshots remain available for spatial processing.
