  • Abstract
    A mixed search procedure is developed in this paper based on particle swarm optimization and harmony search algorithm, in which an initial solution is first obtained by harmony search algorithm and it is contained in the group of particles and is used in the implementation of particle swarm optimization, This mixed search procedure is applied in the determination of minimum factor of safeties of soil slopes. the results provided by harmony search algorithm, particle swarm optimization and this mixed procedure are compared and the efficiency of this mixed procedure is demonstrated.
