Abstract
Many methods exist for generating periodic synchronous multiprocessor programs for the solution of particular problems. A number of transformations have been developed for mapping multiprocessor solutions of one class into solutions of another class. These methods provide for the transformation of existing solutions or solutions determined by existing tools into other classes of solutions which may possess more optimal properties. These properties include increased processing rate or decreased rate for bandwidth matching, reduced number of processors, reduced interprocessor communication network complexity, or reduced communications bandwidth requirements.
