Abstract
The main finding of the study is the utility of adaptive fuzzy clocks in monitoring the settling times of control systems. We study the measurement of how long it takes control system responses to reach and stay within a specified tolerance band of its final value. The proposed approach to monitoring control system settling time is not limited to fuzzy controllers, but extends to other classes of controllers as well. This is beneficial in applications where the performance of fuzzy as well as non-fuzzy controllers must be compared
