Abstract :
Power scaling to >1 mJ is demonstrated for a tunable (1.1-2.9 mum) femtosecond (<140 fs) optical parametric amplifier based on the monoclinic crystal BiB3O6, pumped near 800 nm by a 1 kHz Ti:sapphire laser amplifier.
