Abstract
As a result of simulation and fabrication, guidelines for designing high impedance etched ground grounded coplanar waveguide transmission lines are presented. These lines have been shown to be useful in unequal power divider circuits and stepped-impedance lowpass filters. By etching the ground beneath the center conductor of the grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW), high impedances up to 220 Omega have been realized. Measurement results and em simulation agree well at 5 GHz.
