Abstract :
Since 2007, several 10000TEU container ships of COSCO have been put into operation. Compared with the general container ships, its size and power are unparalleled. Obviously, it is a giant in the sea! However, we must have a clear understanding that there are also many risks existing in such ships. Once these risks expose, it would be more serious than the general large container ships. Therefore, assessing the risk of the 10000TEU container Ships has a great practical significance. In order to establish the pre-control guidance system for the captain and chief engineer to provide the necessary security and technical support, and to enhance the safe operation level of the 10000TEU container ships, the author used hazards and operability analysis (hazards and operability, HAZOP) technology to assess the risk existing in the 10000TEU container ships.
