  • Abstract
    Multi-phase machine drives show several advantages over three-phase drives, especially in the applications of high power, high reliability, and low DC link voltage. In this paper, a multi-dimensional orthogonal-subspaces model for multi-phase machines which can be used in harmonic control is presented. By using this model, a unified control scheme for both the fundamental component and the harmonic components in multi-phase drives is obtained. Simulations and experiments are carried out. The results prove that the algorithm can work effectively as analyses.
