Abstract :
Real time image enhancement of video pictures is discussed. Video pictures such as cable TV pictures are by nature noisy. The problem is how to enhance the picture´s appearance without amplifying the noise. Two basic restrictions are that the pictures should be processed at video rate and the cost of the system has to be very low. The authors´ scheme meets all these demands
