  • Abstract
    Template matching is a method widely used in the area of target detection and tracking. In this paper, a new target match recognition method based on contour area feature is presented. After introduced the idea of this method, the method to construct the matching reference template and compute the matching comparability is explained. The matching performance of this method is analysed according to matching experiments with forward looking infrared real time images. The result shows that this method has applied value to forward looking infrared target recognition.
