Abstract :
The worldwide competition has resulted in dramatic changes European manufacturing industries currently has to face. Thereby, flexibility is the main keyword. Future production systems are designed to provide both the possibility of mass customisation as well as of lot size one production with very specific requirements. The EC funded PABADISpsilaPROMISE project aims at providing a solution for most flexible manufacturing systems composed of autonomous acting system entities. Exploiting agent technology an architecture has been developed enabling on demand design and use of control applications as well as seamless integration of control devices based on manufacturing process execution capabilities. Within the following paper the control application execution of the PABADISpsilaPROMISE architecture will be described in detail.
