Abstract :
As difficult-to-cut material with poor machinability, Machining of Inconel 718 at higher cutting speeds is expected to provide some relief from the machining difficulties. This paper investigate the possibility of high-speed cutting Inconel 718 by a series of cutting experiment. From the result, it presents that cutting force in high-speed zone is 30% lower than in conventional, at same time, the increasing trend of cutting temperature slows down in high-speed zone. If the performance of cutting tool is good enough, the high-speed cutting of Inconel 718 can be achieved.
