Abstract :
Aiming at handling dynamic and complex manufacturing environment, a novel coordination approach, inspired by the hormone regulatory mechanism, is proposed and applied to manufacturing control system in this paper. Inspired by the hormone regulatory principle, a novel coordination approach, which uses an implicit coordination approach, can find efficient routing paths among the manufacturing resources automatically. Using the proposed approach, the control communication overhead, which exists in shop floor control system, can be reduced. Through a suite of experiments, the proposed hormone-based implicit coordination approach has excellent control performance, lower communication, and better robustness.
