Abstract :
A comparison of MTI and Optimum Pulse-Doppler processors is presented for the case where they coherently process the same number of pulses in a radar dwell. These results are presented in terms of probability of detection versus signal-to-noise or signal-to-clutter ratio, for a fixed false alarm probability. When multiple dwells are transmitted during the time-on-target, dwell-to-dwell PRF changes can be used to eliminate blind speeds. A step-by-step procedure for implementing such designs is described and a performance analysis for a particular example is presented.
