Abstract

We have developed a software synthesis system that generates part of the source code of the application software for network management systems (NMS). This system allows developers to define the specification of NMS applications by using a menu-driven editor and then generates C++ source code. The core of the system is SOFTEX/S, a software synthesis tool that is based on a term-rewriting theory. This paper reports a method to develop NMS application software effectively using our software synthesis approach
