Abstract :
Summary form only given. On behalf of the ICDAR2005 organizing committee, as Program Chair I am honored and delighted to welcome you to the 8th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition at Olympic Parktel, Seoul, Korea. I believe we have chosen a venue that guarantees a successful technical conference amid the culture and scenery of Seoul. Our technical program is rich and varied with 1 keynote speech and 4 invited talks and around 240 technical papers split between 3 parallel oral sessions and 3 poster sessions each day. Besides, there are 4 workshops and a tutorial program co-located. We also expect to provide technical demonstrations, and numerous opportunities for informal networking.
