Abstract :
In this paper the complete controllability of an N-bus power system model is analyzed. The controls in this model are bounded, which is consistent with the limited capacities of actual control devices. The complete controllability region refers to a subset of the power system state space in which any pair of states is mutually reachable using available controls. The result shows that the complete controllability region exists and contains an open set of the state space. The computational task is nontrivial for high dimensional systems. In actual power systems, the proposed controllability region provides a tool to identify a set of states where the power system is completely controllable given the control limits
