Abstract :
The advanced intelligent network (AIN) infrastructure provides a customer provisioning service creation environment. However, this may create problems in billing, performance, and security management. As ATM technology enhances AIN services, the ATM network management system must co-exist to provide a high quality of service (QoS) to AIN and B-ISDN subscribers. The management of B-ISDN has been difficult due to the ATM characteristics. In this paper we present a design of the integrated network management system for AIN and B-ISDN. The management system provides the integrated operations system. We describe how the telecommunication management network (TMN) can collaborate to provide an integrated network management for the AIN and B-ISDN in the logical architecture layer. The architecture is discussed from the standpoint of the flow of diagnostic information and the role of equipment and personnel
