Abstract
In this study, the multi-level set method based on Chan-Vese model was applied to image segmentation. The proposed method is a generalization of the active contour model without edges, which developed by T. Chan and L. Vese. This method can automatically avoid the problems of vacuum and overlap and represent boundaries with complex topologies. The model and the details of the numerical algorithms are given. Numerical example for image segmentation is provided to show the feasible to the proposed algorithm.
