Abstract :
This paper considers the problem of how to establish synchronization with and determine the spatial signature of multiple co-channel signals with known waveforms. Asymptotically optimal algorithms an developed for both the case when all transmitted signals an identical (the overlapping echo problem), and where they are all distinct. The issue of solution uniqueness is also addressed, and in particular an upper bound on the number of signals whose parameters may be uniquely identified is derived. Typically, the bound is far greater than the number of sensors, and is limited only by the number of data samples collected.
