  • Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present a landslide case along a high loess plateau by field investigation, laboratory tests and numerical analysis. The factors of the high loess slope terrain and environmental that induced the landslide are investigated. Based on the information of field investigation and laboratory testing results, a three-dimensional model of the high loess slope prior to the landslide is created, and the influences of the variation of ground water level and the seepage flow on the slope stability are analyzed. The numerical results of ground water level variation suggest that the slope reaches an equilibrium state when the displacement on the top of slope reaches a certain value. However, the displacement increases significantly and the sudden failure may occur more easily when the seepage flow is taken into account. This study may be used for reference of the research of high loess slope stability.
