Abstract :
In this paper, we present a real time operational parcel reader from an image processing perspective. We discuss the various difficulties that had to be dealt with to read the addresses on parcels. Main focus will be on the techniques to overcome two specific difficulties, the location of the address block and the occurrence of sender errors. The system presented was developed and implemented and it is up and running.
