Abstract
It is important to reason about the possibility of certain events as well as the knowledge of agents in many of application areas for reasoning about knowledge. This paper proposes the concept of belief degree of an agent with respect to a fact. Moreover, based on the belief degree of agent, the similarity degree between agent ´s graded knowledge and a pseudo metric on the set of agent ´s graded knowledge are established, which makes it possible for agent to develop approximate reasoning by using its graded knowledge and provides a quantitative framework for reasoning about knowledge.
