Abstract :
We report on high duty-cycle pulsed and burst-mode operation of lambda ~ 8 mum quantum cascade lasers under ambient conditions for photo-acoustic spectroscopy. An optimum in average optical power and efficiency is seen around 800 kHz and 50% duty-cycle.
