Abstract :
More and more techniques about Medical Image Retrieval are used in Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD). How to extract image features which reflect the high level semantics of an image is very important in Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR). In accordance with this issue, there proposed a method using co occurrence matrix to extract texture feature and edge histogram to extract shape feature of medical images in this paper. Then Euclidean distance is used for medical image retrieval. Results of experimentation showed that the proposed algorithm has been applied to medical image retrieval with promising effect.
