  • Abstract
We discuss a mechanism for utilizing the information theoretic formalism of chaos for digital communication, and describe an experimental demonstration. This approach provides a means for utilizing a natural property of chaos to generate digital signals, and suggests new approaches to signal production and processing. We also describe how such symbolic control provides a “fully digital” approach to controlling chaos
