Abstract :
Mean curvature and Gaussian curvature are two important measurements in the study of surface and image processing. Mean curvature has been intensively used in the PDE method for image processing. We propose a fourth order flow for image smoothing based on Gaussian curvature in this paper. The new model can preserve more details while suppress noise. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.
